6,000 Meals Served In Gaza

The story of Gaza’s Christians is almost never told. They are a small but deeply faithful community who refuse to leave or let the light of Christ be extinguished from one of the world's darkest places. And as they and their neighbors face extraordinary daily need, scarce food, widespread displacement, and thousands of children traumatized and at risk of death, we are determined to support this courageous church. If they are going to stay, we are going to stand with them.
Last month, CHLF co-sponsored a two-day meal program led by North Gaza’s Christian community, where hot meals were prepared and shared with families who had nowhere else to turn. Against impossible odds, no fuel, hardly any clean water, and even difficulty finding wood to cook with, the local team managed to prepare and serve 6,000 meals. We've tried for months to find a way to do this and God opened a door and forged the relationships to make it happen.
It wasn’t just food.
It was a witness.
A reminder that when the world fractures, the Church steps forward.

Here in the U.S., Thanksgiving is just days away. Millions of families will gather around tables filled with abundance, something we should rightly receive with gratitude. But Scripture also reminds us that true thanksgiving moves outward, toward those who suffer.
Isaiah calls us not only to remember the oppressed, but to act:
“Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen:
to loose the chains of injustice
and untie the cords of the yoke,
to set the oppressed free
and break every yoke?
Is it not to share your food with the hungry
and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter—
when you see the naked, to clothe them,
and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?"
Isaiah 58:6-7
This is exactly what our brothers and sisters in Gaza are doing, and exactly what your partnership helps make possible.
